Dr. Eli's Personal Coaching
No matter your age, gender, profession, or occupation, or what rung
on your career ladder you may be at, it's always good to be able to
bounce ideas around with those you trust, those who've "been there,"
and those with a fresh perspective based on a combination of instinct,
experience, and education.
That's what I offer you--a personal, confidential, trusted port in a storm.
I have advised Chief Executive Officers, Premiers, commanders and
corporate presidents. I have also advised those starting their careers
and those at the top of their game. The situations have ranged from
having internal doubts, lack of confidence, difficulty with
communications, and challenges in dealing with others. My clients and
I have also mapped out career plans, developed safe ways of gaining
self-awareness, and found ways to bring balance and wellness into
busy career and personal lives.
HOW IT WORKS
We'll start off with a free initial phone call (or meeting if you're in the Vancouver
area). In this session I'll get a sense of your expectations and needs, and you'll
get a measure of what I can offer. If we agree to build a professional relationship,
then we'll discuss terms. I suggest you consider a three to six month initial
commitment where we chat on the phone (or exchange e-mails) three times a
month. Each session on the phone will last up to 30 minutes (but I'm not a
meticulous clock-watcher!). For this service, I charge you $500 a month. You can
quit any time. There's no "binding contract." What's important here is that you are
receiving a benefit from our relationship. And of course, our relationship is strictly
confidential.
SO, WHO AM I?
My formal education includes a PhD in Human and Organizational Systems where
I specialized in the role of emotions and knowledge in organizational behavior. I
also have a Masters of Arts degree in Human Development where my research
speciality was the role of human fear in decision-making. My second Masters of
Arts degree is in Leadership and Training where my research focus was on how
personal self-image affects leadership and self-worth. I also have a Certificate in
Peer Counselling from the University of BC (my undergraduate work was in Public
Administration). But enough of the academic stuff!
My real education comes from my life experiences. I have worked as a
construction worker, a journalist, an Associate Deputy Minister within a Premier's
Office, the Vice President of an international consulting firm, the Director of Public
Affairs with a major professional association, the Director of Research & Analysis
with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police national Change Management Team
(current job), and as a university instructor.
I have been divorced twice, married three times, have two sons, danced under the
Northern Lights, felt the rain in Shanghai, and the sunrise in Caracas. I have fired
people, been fired, started a company from scratch, and written four books and
several journal articles. Along the way I've received 11 regional, national, and
international awards recognizing my professional achievement. And I still strongly
believe that my learning has just begun! You can reach me at orgdoc@telus.net or
telephone me in Vancouver, Canada, at (604) 730-9676.
